Our FWAs arrive fully operational, and do not require special software or computer interface use.  The remote filter selector and position are part of the FWA control box (see  FWA block diagram ),  which may be located up to >100' from the filter wheel (standard cable length is 25'). Our PC-based FILTERŪ  software is  an option that allows the user to fully automate complex filter sequences and dwell time routines via a PC parallel port. 

Our standard FWAs accommodate 1" (25mm) or  2" (50mm)  square or round  filters, in  six- or eight-position versions.  We also offer a wide variety of custom FWA configurations covering filter sizes from <25mm to 125mm, either square or round, or round only (the latter option results in a substantially  smaller wheel and package size, see DIMENSIONS).  The number of filter positions in a given wheel can range from 2 to >8,  although if more than 8 filters are needed, it may save space and be more economical to use two or more FWAs in series. 

Our FWAs are available with sturdy housings constructed of aluminum alloy, or in their basic open configuration for adaptation to the user's equipment.

Table provides dimensions as a function of filter size, shape (round  or square), and number of filter positions, using attached diagram as reference.   Dimensions ( in inches unless noted) are approximate, and may vary depending on  requirements of each system.    Ro is radial distance to the center of filters. 

NOTE: Wheels for square filters will also accommodate round filters.

*NOTE:  Filter wheels for round filters only are included below for comparison, but are are considered  special order at this time due to limited demand.
