Subject: [Rtl]2.4.20-rtl3.2-pre1 SMP only?

Hello,

My Cyrix 486 system (1 CPU) reboots immediately when loading the rtl 
modules on an Uniprocessor configured kernel (2.4.20-rtl3.2-pre1). A SMP 
configured kernel works fine but I would like to keep my kernel 
configured as uniprocessor for better performance.

As far as I can see in my Syslog (debugging mode turned on) some lines 
report warnings:

     Feb 17 10:58:36 tei03 kernel: RTLinux Extensions Loaded
     (http://www.fsmlabs.com/)
     Feb 17 10:59:58 tei03 kernel: RTL_GET_SOFT_IRQ 15: request=0
     Feb 17 11:00:41 tei03 kernel: RTL_GET_SOFT_IRQ 15: request=0
     Feb 17 11:01:41 tei03 kernel: RTL_GET_SOFT_IRQ 15: request=0

I remember that kernel 2.4.19 had problems with UP configured kernels 
([Rtl]mailinglist 4 Nov 2002) is this problem still in 2.4.20 ?
