Recent studies have recognized chi1 For as one of the closest and richest associations near its age [34 Myr], making it a valuable laboratory for various studies of star and planet formation. We have used astrometry and photometry from Gaia DR3 to perform a survey for members of the association, arriving at a sample of 287 candidates.  Many of these stars lack the spectroscopy needed for measuring spectral types and confirming youth.  We propose to use SpeX to perform measurements of this kind for 88 late-type candidates that lack spectroscopy.
