This README1.txt file contains instructions for 1024x1024 InSb array fanout board. FILES: fan1sch.pdf = pdf schematic fanout1.net = netlist in CASE format fandev3.pdf = example layout file for both the fanout and configuration pcb. The view is for the LCC124 socket side so the headers are not shown correctly. sockt1.pdf = connector specs sockt2.pdf = connector specs DESCRIPTION: WARNING: The schematic notes say the board should be 3.75x3.75 but the board is intended to be able to be sheared down to just outside the resistors and headers so a broken ground plane with small shorting traces should be layed out. The schematic shows a top view of the LCC124 socket side of the board. So the 2MM headers were shown mirrored. See the graphic depiction of the way the fanout and configuration boards connect to each other. The fandev3.pdf layout shows partial layouts for both boards. The fanout board is on the left and the config board on the right. The traces should be routed in a fanout pattern without using vias on the fanout board. The goal is to route everything on one layer and with short noninterfering traces. The resistors should be placed outside of the headers. 10 mil or smaller traces may have to be used. LAYOUT NOTES: 1. Layer stackup: the pcb should be a 2 layer board. TOP Yamaichi Socket and AGND ground plane -------------------------------------------------- BOTTOM 2mm headers and SMT resistors. FROM SCHEMATIC NOTE BOX: PCB Layout instructions: 1. LCC124 socket is Yamaichi P/N IC51-1244-410. 2. Center Yamaichi socket on 3.75" x 3.75 " square board - LAYER 1. 2a. Round PCB corners .125 inch radius. 3. Place square cutout (keepout area) 1.5" x 1.5" at center. 3a. Round corners .125 inch radius. 4. Place 60 pin, 2mm headers on each side of the socket - LAYER 2. Headers J2 and J4 will need to be placed so that the their mating sockets on the configuration board will not interfere with the 96 pin connectors. J1 and J3 should be placed at least 100 mils from the sides of the socket. 4a. 2mm headers will mate with sockets on stacked configuration board. 5. Place all resistors (0603 size) on LAYER 2. 6. Place ground plane on LAYER 1, 100mil from edges except increase distance to allow for rounded (.125 radius) corners. 7. Fanout traces from socket e.g. bond wire fanout. 10mil traces should work. 8. Solder mask ONLY LAYER 2. 9. Add clearance holes for 4 socket corner holes = .282 inch diameter. 9a. Holes are .984" from centerline and 1.968" from each other. 10. Add mounting holes at locations where the CONFIGURATION board 96 pin connector mounting holes would be. note: The schematic shows a top view of the LCC124 socket side of the board. So the 2MM headers were shown mirrored.
