The timing and duration of Io's volcanic eruptions give important constraints for models of tidal heating, plasma torus processes, and the volcanic process itself. High-cadence observations allow us to constrain these eruptions and other volcanic activity and will complement Juno's extended mission. We propose observing Io in the K, L, and M-bands at a high cadence [~few weeks]. We have two types of short observations: 20 minute daylit service observations, distributed throughout the semester at any time, and 90 minute occultation observations that must occur when the viewing geometry allows. We will use these observations to detect and characterize volcanic activity. These observations allow spatial mapping and brightness/temperature readings for bright volcanoes on Io. Sunlit imaging provides lower spatial resolution but, unlike occultation observations, full global coverage [25].
