Recently, ASAS-SN discovered a star that has decreased in magnitude by nearly 3 magnitudes! We think this is dust from a collision in a debris disk; therefore, we would like prompt observations before the dust can settle. This is a rare chance to observe
interactions in stellar discs and what could cause a star to dim by 3 magnitudes in such a short period of time. We seek a high SNR spectrum of the target using SXD to resolve narrow features. If the target is 16th magnitude (a conservative lower limit), we will need about 1 hour of integration time to achieve our
desired SNR (estimated with spex observing calculator.
